Eder Delin, Gahreesen, and the Great Zero

January 21, 2007

All I can really say about Eder Delin is wow. Though the architecture is very nearly identical to that in Eder Kemo, the age itself is quite different. The accessible area is small, but it seems much larger than it is, even when there are many people there. I can’t wait until the DRC releases Eder Tsogal. The spiral is interesting. It matches the sun & moon pattern. If you look closely, you can see how the moon and the beginning of the spiral make the circle, the sun is the dot, and the spiral wraps around.

There’s something on Gahreesen as well – I have absolutely no idea what it is, and I don’t really want to speculate. Hopefully, there will be something similar elsewhere, and its purpose might become known.

The Great Zero has also been opened, and I’m rather excited about that. I’ve managed to get into the main GZ area, but I only have 4 markers towards opening the back room. Some of the markers that I recovered during my own explorations (When the DRC was gone from the Cavern) seem to be missing – all the Neighborhood markers, as well as a few in the city. (I might be wrong about the Ae’gura markers being missing – it’s been a long time) The Relto page that once sat in the GZ Courtyard is also missing.

And for those of you who are curious – yes, I did take the Eder Delin object. Something about those caves bothers me… I can’t seem to think clearly when I’m there. Besides the fact that I have to jump through the hole in the floor before I can link out. Any cave that blocks linking is dangerous in my book. But I’m still drawn to those doors. Even in the ages I’ve already completed, I still feel the tug of those doors when I walk by them. It’s especially scary in Gahreesen – I’m not too fond of heights…

A New Year, a New Adventure

January 1, 2007

Happy New Year everyone. I think it’s been the new year everywhere at this point.

I finished Yeesha’s journey. I’m not certain why, I’d told myself many times that I just didn’t know enough about her or the Bahro to complete it… Yet I did anyway. It was an odd compulsion, much like the one that led me to the Cleft… how many years ago now? It seems that D’ni and its ages have always been a part of my life. When I’m on the surface, I find myself wishing I’m in the cavern, yet the cavern only brings a sense of sadness… So much art, technology, culture lost forever. Not all of it will be salvagable I expect, but perhaps enough will be…

Hopefully the DRC will open more of Ae’gura soon… D’ni isn’t meant to be kept secret. That was its downfall, and it could very well be the downfall of the DRC. Explorers are getting restless. My position on dealing with them hasn’t changed. Ask carefully phrased questions, and don’t upset the DRC members any more than you have to. If we respect them, they’ll respect us.

The Cavern

December 22, 2006

I’ve been exploring the cavern, and the ages… Lots of things keep changing. Some of it is probably DRC stuff, but the rest… No one’s really sure. People like to use the Bahro to explain everything, but there’s really no evidence to that, other than a complete lack of other explanations… Only time will tell, I suppose.

I went through Kadish Tolesa with Darryl Pogue, which was fun. I’ve only ever gone through the ages by myself, so it was fun to solve it with another person. I touched all the Journey Cloths, but linked out with my Relto book before I went through the door. I’ll finish all the journeys when I’m more sure of Yeesha’s intentions.

I noticed a linking book in the Kadish vault. I couldn’t get it to work, but I’ll check it out later. It appeared to link to the vault, but empty. I’ve heard people talk about a “future vault.” That seems to be what the book goes to… despite the fact that normal linking book rules say that such a thing is impossible. The book is shaped a lot like the Relto book, so it may be Yeesha’s doing… Whatever the nature of the Book, I’m very interested in getting to the other side…
